Past Projects

Below are some of the projects I've worked on in the past.

This Site!

I am hand coding this site to re-teach myself HTML/CSS.

Wake (MUD)

A text based MMORPG. I coded this almost entirely alone. I'm particularly proud of the action based combat system, and the SQL DB for player and world storage, that was also accessible on the website.

My current server doesn't allow SSH, so I can't get it running to get pictures of it running. Maybe soon!

'87 Toyota MR2

I found this MR2 dumped on a chicken farm. I pulled the seized engine and installed one from a Corolla.

Rewired the computer, did a lot of preventative maintenance, and installed the new engine. I did most of the work myself with guidance from some very patient mechanics.

Croooooooooow

From MST3k, I designed a control mechanism for Crow's eyes.

Y-Wing Refurbish

This 80s Kenner Y-wing was in poor condition. I airbrushed it as part of the restoration.

Halo and Mass Effect Cosplay

Laser cut EVA (yoga mat) foam makes for flexible, lightweight cosplay armor. I developed the cut profiles, and much of the Adobe Illustrator lines for cutting.

The ODST helmet was made by a similar method: Pepakura takes 3d models and flattens them into puzzle pieces. Laser cutting the pieces out of cardstock provides enough rigidity to be fiberglassed. The visor was made by vacuum forming the plug.

Halo Assault Rifle Electronics

Special effects for this cosplay prop were made via Arduino. An ammo counter display ticks down each time the trigger is pulled. Removing and re-inserting the magazine resets the ammo count. It also had a functional compass (the digital circle in the first picture)

Theatre Props

While working for the Palo Alto Players, I helped with construction and painting of setpieces (The first picture). As well as laser cutting props (the last four).
